Externship Experience

Catalog description

This graded classroom component complements fieldwork through structured reflection and development of professional skills. Includes discussions, small-group exercises, case rounds, and oral presentations to strengthen lawyering and professional competencies. Engages participants in dialogue on experiences in the field placement; observations of supervising attorneys and other professionals in the justice system; and topics related to diversity, ethics, professionalism, and professional identity, including personal values and standards. Corequisite with the variable-credit externship enrollment, LAW 792 (1-5 credits). Must be registered for LAW 792E (1 credit) and LAW 792 concurrently.
