Catalog description

Covers civil and criminal procedure issues as applied in the online context, along with a range of specific substantive issues such as online contract formation, basic regulation of encryption, the operation and history of Section 230 of the Telecommunications Act, the Electronic Communications Protection Act and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act as well as the various challenges relating to international jurisdictional disputes and the application of domestic laws to a global internet. Similar courses at other institutions might be titled "Internet Law".
