Catalog description

An overview of the rights and obligations of an unsecured creditor under state law with focus on the rights and obligations of a secured creditor under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. Consider relationship between debtor and secured creditor by examining statutory requirements for granting a security interest in personal property and the rights of the secured creditor when the debtor defaults on its obligations. Learn how relationship between debtor and creditor impacts other creditors of the debtor. Study of the filing system used for perfection of security interest and the priority rules for resolving conflicts between the various creditors of a debtor. Learn the fundamental bankruptcy concepts.
