A chronological and thematic survey of global crime from the early 19th Century to the present. Topics and themes include modernity and murder, the geography of diverse criminal underworlds, major cases involving robbery, theft and kidnapping, the birth and development of secret criminal societies, race, gender, colonialism and crime, media and criminality, and narco-trafficking.
