Examine some major debates in developmental psychology (e.g. nature vs. nurture, quantitative vs. qualitative change). Provide an overview of life-span developmental changes and impacts on developmental change across the lifespan. Explore and critique theories explaining lifespan development of social, cognitive, and physical capacities. Develop a working understanding of the methods used in developmental research designed for professional school, counseling, or clinical psychologist with focused and in-depth awareness and empathy for the issues of development.
