Catalog description

Psychology of Motivation focuses on understanding and impacting students' motivation to learn. Theories discussed in this class are applicable to a wide array of achievement settings (e.g., math, science, writing, health education) as well as more general motivational concerns (e.g., studying, addiction, video games). Content covered includes drive theory, behaviorism as motivation, achievement motivation, goal theory, self-determination theory, social cognitive theory, and ecological theories of motivation.
