FCSE: Supervision of Secondary Student Teachers

Catalog description

The course is designed to prepare cooperating teachers within Career & Technical Education, specifically, family and consumer sciences. Supervision of student teachers is an essential component of teacher preparation, and as such, the roles of student teacher, cooperating teacher, university supervisor, and state department of education will be analyzed. Mentoring strategies, evaluation and feedback models and collaborative teaching approaches will also be discussed. An opportunity will be provided to address potential areas of concern regarding teacher preparation.
