Catalog description

Critically evaluate how research in bioenergetics has contributed to scientific discoveries in the fields of nutrition, biochemistry, and physiology. Methodologies for determination of human and animal energy expenditure and body composition. Specifically, direct calorimetry, indirect calorimetry and comparative slaughter techniques. Emphasis on components of organ and tissue energy expenditures. Background information important in other nutrition courses.
