Introduction to counseling theories, core skills, and the professional practice of counseling. Topics include current counseling theories, social justice and multicultural counseling competencies, basic attending, compassion, nonjudgmental states, and legal and ethical considerations. Methods of instruction include integration of peer and faculty feedback, and skill practice with peers.
