Catalog description
Probability and statistics for business, social science, biological science, and other majors. Topics include: descriptive statistics including displays of data, probability, probability distributions including the binomial, normal and Poisson distributions, confidence intervals for proportions, means, and standard deviations, hypothesis testing for one and two samples, contingency tables and the chi-square test, analysis of variance, linear regression, and non-parametric statistics (optional). Methods of instruction include case studies, simulations, and the use of technology.
