Vet Imaging Clinical Skills

Catalog description
This course provides hands-on clinical application of veterinary radiographic procedures with emphasis on patient safety, image quality, and proper documentation. Students implement and observe recommended radiation safety measures while positioning live animals to produce diagnostic radiographic images. This course also includes the use of dental radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic intra-oral full-mouth dental radiographs. Additional topics include appropriate labeling, filing, and storage of images, performance of contrast studies, and application of radiographic techniques on sedated canine patients for screening of hip dysplasia. Four laboratory hours per week.
