Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the human services profession, including its history, major theoretical and treatment approaches, essential personal and professional characteristics, and the roles of community support practitioners across various agencies and service areas. Students begin the process of self-awareness and growth in relation to helping others. This class has a required out-of-classroom field experience component.
