Topics include early Vietnamese history, Vietnam and French imperialism, Vietnam in World War II, the French - Vietnamese War, growing U.S. involvement in the 1950s, the creation of North and South Vietnam, the introduction of U.S. combat troops in the 1960s, the victory of Communist forces in 1975, the impact of the war upon domestic U.S. politics and the role of the Cold War.
