This course is a sociological analysis of African-American society in the United States. Key social institutions will be examined: media, schools, family, political, economic, religious, and legal as related to the criminal justice system on micro and macro levels, as they pertain to African-Americans. This course will examine the sociological point of view of African Americans from slavery through current events. Spring. Prerequisites: ENG 101 , SOC 103 .
