Catalog description
This course will begin with the Reconstruction and will examine the social, economic, and political issues of the late nineteenth century as the country moved from an agrarian society to an industrialized nation, the emergence of the United States as a world power with World War I, the effects of the Great Depression on society and government, World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam, Women's Rights, the War on Terror, and the challenges that America faces as it moves into a new century. Spring. Prerequisites: ENG 098 , FYE 101 , RDG 098 , or placement.
