Catalog description
This course surveys British Literature from the Romantic era to contemporary writers. Special attention will be paid to important literature of the neoclassical period, Romanticism, Victorianism, and Literary Modernism. It examines the continuing evolution of the British nation and the (sometimes uneasy) re-shaping of national and artistic identity in the face of imperial expansion and the post-colonial era. Spring. Prerequisite: ENG 102 or permission of division dean.
