Catalog description

This course surveys British Literature from Old and Middle English literature to the end of the eighteenth-century. Special attention will be paid to important literature of the Middle Ages, the English Renaissance, the Restoration, and the Eighteenth-Century. It examines the formation of the British nation and identity as well as tracing the evolution of the tradition(s) of a British national literature. Fall. Prerequisite: ENG 102 or permission of division dean.
