Catalog description
This course aims to further develop drawing skills introduced in ART 263 Drawing I and provide students with the opportunity to achieve an overall confidence level with a range of different media and approaches. Areas of concentration will focus on composition, perspective, and illusionary, as well as two-dimensional aspects of space. A diverse range of artists, approaches, and styles will be presented. A significant amount of time will be spent developing drawings of the human figure from nude and clothed models. Portfolio development in this area will be encouraged with critiques aimed at the enhancement of individual drawing strengths. Additional homework outside of class meeting time may be required. Spring. Prerequisite: ART 263 or permission of Division Dean.
