Catalog description

Ideal beginning course for those who grew up speaking Spanish and wish to develop confidence in a more formal setting. Focus is on developing reading and writing in standard Spanish with special attention to spelling, accentuation, punctuation, English interference, basic grammar, and diversity of the Spanish language and cultures in the U.S. and the rest of the world. Upon completion, SPN 201 is recommended. Taught in Spanish. Previous coursework in Spanish not required. Beginning course for those who learned Spanish mostly as a home language. Previous academic experience in Spanish not required. Upon successful completion, SPN 201 is recommended.
