Catalog description

This course is intended for students who would like to major in music, or for those who are serious about improving their skills in trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium or tuba. Students receive one hour of private instruction on a brass instrument per week for 16 weeks. Students will be expected to practice a minimum of ten hours per week in addition to their lesson time. The student will study a variety of appropriate exercises and solo repertoire commensurate with their skill level, and will be expected to perform a jury examination as their final exam. First time students should enroll in MUS 142 and enroll in the next numbered course in subsequent semesters, with each numbered course corresponding to a level of technical fluency.
