Catalog description

This course is intended for students who would like to major in music, or for those who are serious about improving their skills on a woodwind instrument. Students receive one hour of private instruction on a woodwind instrument per week for 16 weeks. Students will be expected to practice a minimum of ten hours per week in addition to their lesson time. The student will study a variety of appropriate exercises and solo repertoire commensurate with their skill level, and will be expected to perform a jury examination as their final exam. First time students should enroll in MUS 140 and enroll in the next numbered course in subsequent semesters, with each numbered course corresponding to a level of technical fluency.
