Catalog description

This course is intended for students who would like to study trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium or tuba for personal enrichment. Students receive a half-hour of private instruction on a brass instrument per week for 16 weeks. Students will study a variety of appropriate exercises and solo repertoire, and will be expected to perform a jury examination as their final exam. Students will be expected to practice a minimum of five hours per week in addition to their lesson time. First time students should enroll in MUS 143 and enroll in the next numbered course in subsequent semesters, with each numbered course corresponding to a level of technical fluency.
