Catalog description

Appropriate usage of medical language in written documentation. In addition, students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to use an electronic health care record. Includes documentation requirements for E&M codes, law and ethics related to the medical record, documentation requirements and practical experience entering clinical information into an EHR. Proofreading for errors, analysis for content, spelling, and phonetic problem-solving will be discussed. A solid foundation of medical terminology is necessary for this course. 36.00 hours lecture and 9.00 hours laboratory. (Letter grade only)
