An introduction to a counseling career which addresses the use of drugs, alcohol and social sciences. Emphasis is on drug and alcohol use in relation to complex social phenomena. Provides a drug and alcohol perspective from multiple disciplines, drug policy, global perspectives and socio-cultural frameworks. Addresses public health approaches and issues surrounding the decriminalization of drugs. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
