Catalog description
A general survey of practical law intended as an introduction to the American legal system and to acquaint the student with elements of the law that affect everyday legal relationships: Criminal and juvenile justice, consumer law, family law, housing law, and individual rights and liberties. Emphasis is placed on the philosophical and political foundations of law and on civil law. Recommended for prelaw students and for others interested in the practical application of the law. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
