Catalog description

This lecture/laboratory course emphasizes the performance of waived tests as approved by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments. Waived testing methods include point of care testing in urinalysis, hematology, chemistry, immunology and microbiology. Topics in specimen processing, record keeping, CPT coding, laboratory infection control, quality assessment, quality control and reference ranges of tests performed also are considered.
