Catalog description

This lab course explores the universe, and gives students an understanding of our place within it. Students investigate topics such as the history of Astronomy, the formation and evolution of the solar system, the birth, life and death of stars, the formation and evolution of galaxies, and basic Cosmology, the study of the beginning and revolution of the universe as a whole. Students will be introduced to the methods of Astronomy including types of telescopes and how astronomers collect and analyze data. (6 contact hours)
