Catalog description

This inorganic chemistry course involves the study of the structures, properties and reactions of all elements and their compounds other than hydrocarbons and their derivatives. The primary goal of the course is to familiarize students with the diversity and practical impact of inorganic chemistry. Students will be introduced to synthesis, reactions, structures, and their explanations. Students will discover that advancement comes from recognizing new or unexpected results and extending these results to new applications. Prerequisites, CHMY 143 (College Chemistry 2); CHMY 323 (Organic Chemistry 2).
