Catalog description

Students develop skills in using dichotomous keys and plant identification. Students develop a detailed collection list based on plants associated with specific ecological landscapes, human impacts, and their mitigation plan, e.g., invasive species. Plant collections include both hard-copy and electronic herbarium labels that feature comprehensive associated species lists and ecological information. Correct herbarium mounting format also is included. Prerequisites: BIOB 160 /161 Principles of Living Systems Lecture and Lab. Corequisite: BIOO 535 Rocky Mountain Flora Lecture. Course fee $40.00.
