Conservation Science

Catalog description

The goal of this course is to introduce students to major issues related to the conservation of biodiversity. Lectures will illustrate how science can be used to identify and solve conservation problems. Lectures will cover current threats to biodiversity (human population growth, extinctions, habitat destruction, degradation and fragmentation, overexploitation, invasive species, global climate change) and discuss how science can be used to help ameliorate these impacts.
