Work, Labor, and the Criminal Justice System

Catalog description

This course explores the intersection of work and the criminal justice system in the U.S. by examining the experiences of unpaid (incarcerated) and paid workers (corrections/probation/police officers, etc) in the system. We’ll also investigate the influence of the criminal justice system on the American labor market and solutions to problems with work in the system such as collective action, regulations, and legislation.
