Offered autumn. Prereq., PSCI 250E . Restricted to students with at least junior standing. Analysis of Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Burke, James and John Stuart Mill, Marx and Lenin with regard to their "modern" views of the purpose(s) of political inquiry, the nature of citizenship, public law, and popular sovereignty. Particular attention to contemporary implications of their ideas. Co-convenes with PSCI 553 . Level: Undergraduate
