Offered intermittently. Restricted to students with at least junior standing. Examination of classic and contemporary utopias, from Plato's Republic to Barbara Goodwin's "Justice by Lottery" as well as their critics. Topics covered in this seminar include art and society, social justice, economic and social equality, law and punishment, family relations, work, and communitarian values. Level: Undergraduate-Graduate
