Offered autumn. Restricted to students in the Wilderness Studies minor. Social, cultural, and scientific perspectives on the wilderness idea and wildland conservation. Course topics include history of wilderness and the wilderness movement, various philosophical and ethical viewpoints on and critiques of wilderness, and how wilderness fits into larger landscapes and societies.
