Catalog description

This course prepares students for finding and applying to jobs in the games industry and related sectors. Students will learn how to successfully network in-person and virtually, prepare resumes and cover letters specific to games jobs, build a supporting portfolio, create a professional online presence using social media, and connect with current industry professionals. This class also covers legal issues pertaining to the games industry, such as NDAs or IP ownership, and how to negotiate contracts. Finally, students will learn how to overcome challenges awaiting them after hire in the games industry, such as cross-cultural communication, discrimination, and layoffs. They will leave this course with all the necessary materials and skills for applying to games industry jobs. Level: Undergraduate & Graduate
