Offered autumn. Prereq., M 162 or M 171 . Mathematical concepts used in computer science with an emphasis on mathematical reasoning and proof techniques. Elementary logic, sets, functions and relations, combinatorics, mathematical induction, recursion and algorithms. Mathematics majors should take M 307 instead of M 225 .
