Catalog description

(AM) This course explores the history of hunting, including its broader social and environmental dimensions. The course will trace the way ideas, technology, and laws/policies have shaped hunting and the way that hunting has shaped wildlife populations and the environment. We will also examine the way that hunting connects with cultural ideas about nature, human nature, wilderness, religion, gender, race, and nationalism.
