Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to language as a science and the application of language science in clinical contexts. Students will investigate the domains of human language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Each language domain will be analyzed in clinical applications and contexts. This course also explores how linguistic structures are situated within psychological and social contexts, examining how psychological or social breakdowns can result in language disorders or processing difficulties.
