Offered in fall, alternate years. Students should have prior coursework in organic chemistry and biochemistry. Introduction to the main concepts in drug design and development including concepts and methods in medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology. Also covers computational methods for idea screening and lead development and the use of structural information in drug design and provides an overview of new chemical entity preclinical and clinical process.
