Catalog description

The readings comprise a combination of short texts (poems and short stories) and three novels. Students learn the aesthetic and philosophical tenets of different periods. Spanish painting produced during the same periods is taught to help elucidate these tenets. Students take written response quizzes throughout the semester as well as write a midterm paper and a final paper. The course is taught mostly in Spanish
