Catalog description

(Sp) MSL 102 continues the introduction to the Army and basic Soldier skills from MSL 101 , and further develops the concepts of the Profession of Arms. Students will dive deeper into the philosophy of the Army as a profession and what it means to be a professional in the U.S. Army. MSL 102 introduces students to the personal challenges and competencies that are critical for effective leadership. Students learn how the personal development of life skills such as critical thinking, performance and resilience enhancement skills, and communication will benefit them throughout their life and career. Students learn the basics of the communications process and the importance for leaders to develop the essential skills to effectively communicate in the Army. Students will begin learning the basics of squad level tactics that will be reinforced during a weekly lab facilitated by MS III Cadets, supervised by MS IVs and Cadre.
