This interdisciplinary course examines how sport, fitness, and health have been shaped by culture, power, and identity across historical and contemporary contexts. Drawing from history, sociology, politics, and public health, students critically analyze systemic and institutionalized inequalities related to race, gender, class, and ability, and explore how movement cultures have both reinforced and challenged oppression and social change.
