Catalog description
This course is an overview of mental health counseling and addiction resources within the community. This social advocacy course reviews the spectrum of prevention, mental health and addiction intervention resources, overall community needs assessments, as well as, program implementation and evaluation for mental health and addiction services. Client and social advocacy, governmental policies, obtaining funding, and other aspects of the delivery of human services are explored. There is a particular focus on the management, social advocacy and ethical standards of administrative systems and clinical counseling services related to mental health and addiction programs.
