Catalog description

Through discussion, sharing, and the use of case studies allow students to facilitate the refinement of their practice with pediatric patients with common health problems. Topic discussions include the collection of subjective and objective data using the techniques of interview and physical examination; assessing for developmental benchmarks, formulating differential and final diagnoses; planning care for acute and chronic illness using community resources; use of communication for health teaching, recognizing, and motivating clients and parents for positive health maintenance. Establish collaborative roles with other healthcare providers.
