Catalog description

Content includes the historical perspective, legal regulations, standards, the Controlled Substances Act; pharmacokinetics: pharmacodynamics; choice and use of pharmacotherapeutics; nursing responsibilities in drug prescription; client education concerning the drug desired effects, side effects, interactions, toxicity, dependence, and addiction through the life span. Students who receive less than a B will be required to repeat the course. Students will be allowed to repeat the course no more than once. A second grade below a B in any NU course will make students ineligible to continue in the program.
