Introduces students to the principles of scientific research in criminal justice. It begins with a description of the importance of research by criminal justice and homeland security organizations and moves toward the tenets of sound research practices, including: the formulation or a research question, developing a hypothesis, collecting data, measurement, analysis, and evaluation.
