Catalog description

This course explores positive psychology through the lens of culture and identity. Students will look at how well-being is shaped by factors like personality, social influences, biology, economics and the brain. Students will learn how things like culture, age, gender and socioeconomic status influence what it means to live a good life. Topics include happiness, resilience, motivation, optimism, therapy, education, character strenghts, and even the role of artificial intelligence in well-being. The course connects ideas from fields like social psychology, neuroscience and behavioral economics to help students understand how people thrive individually and as communities.
