Catalog description

Designed to acquaint students with business practices, documents, culture, and terminology of Spanish-speaking countries (including the U.S.). Additionally, students will review and practice Spanish grammar, and learn about Hispanic culture(s) and current topics in the Hispanic business world. This course is designed to give intermediate and advanced students a solid foundation in business vocabulary, basic business and cultural concepts, and situational practice (all in Spanish) necessary to be successful in today's Spanish-speaking business world, which includes the United States. Class participants will acquire key communicative and structural elements through commercial dialogs, translations, advertisements, and role-plays. Prerequisite: FS-202 or FS-222 or placement into FS-300 through the World Languages placement exam
