Catalog description

FS-201 is the first half of an intermediate-level integrated skills Spanish language course. In the FS-201 -202 sequence, students engage in learning strategies that motivate and help them to progress toward the high-intermediate proficiency level characterized by an expanded vocabulary, increased grammatical accuracy and paragraph-level discourse. Emphasis is also given to the study of Hispanic and Latinx cultures and how culture affects language use. FS 201 aims to prepare learners to apply linguistic skills and cultural and global competencies to their future careers and experiences. FS-101 through FS-202 and FS-222 courses are sequential. Prerequisite: FS-102 or placement into FS-201 through the World Languages placement exam
