Selected works of the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries are covered, with attention to representations of the lived experiences of various ethnic minorities in the United States and abroad, as well as to the dynamics of racism and anti-racism and the impacts of slavery, imperialism, and colonialism on the victims and the perpetrators of these forms of oppression.
